Difficulty Specific Prey Achievements Create a Huge Grind for Achievement Hunters

Prey achievement hunters beware: killing a boss on Nightmare difficulty gives zero credit toward the Normal or Hard versions of the same achievement. That means Prey: Normal Mode III, Prey: Hard Mode III, and Prey: Nightmare Mode III each require you to defeat all 30 targets independently — 90 total boss kills across three separate difficulty tracks.

Only four random targets are available per difficulty each week, making this a serious long-term commitment. Once you hit Rank 10 on the Prey: Season 1 renown track, Prey: Preferential Killing lets you target specific missing bosses, and as of the May 12th hotfixes those custom hunts are now infinitely repeatable. Small mercies.

The good news: none of these three achievements are required for the Preying For Midnight meta. The bad news: completionists are still staring down one of the longer grinds the system has produced, and the lack of cross-difficulty credit is, as noted, very unusual for achievements of this type.
