Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 6, 2026Seramate ("we", "our", or "us") operates seramate.com, a World of Warcraft Player vs. Player (PvP) analytics platform (the "Service"). This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. For questions or requests, contact [email protected].
1. Information We Collect
Account information
You sign in through your Battle.net account. We receive your BattleTag and an account identifier from Blizzard — we never see or store your Battle.net password. If you choose to link additional accounts, we also store your Twitch username, your Discord username, and your Patreon membership status and tier (used to grant subscriber perks and AI credits). Linked accounts can be disconnected at any time in your account settings.
Game data
Character data shown on the Service (characters, ratings, activity, titles, gear) comes from the public Blizzard API. If you log in, we associate your characters with your account and keep a history of characters you viewed, which you can see in your account area.
Content you provide
This includes messages and image attachments you send to SeraChat, feedback you leave on AI responses, and conversations you choose to share publicly.
Usage data
When you use the Service we automatically collect usage data such as your IP address, browser type and version, pages visited and timestamps, and diagnostic data. We use your approximate country (provided by our CDN) to preselect a default game region. We also use cookies — see our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain and personalize the Service
- To operate SeraChat and generate AI responses, including its memory features
- To verify subscription status and grant premium perks
- To provide customer support and respond to requests
- To analyze usage, fix errors and improve the Service
- To detect and prevent abuse of the Service
3. Analytics and Error Tracking
We use a self-hosted Matomo instance for site analytics. Analytics data is processed on our own infrastructure and is not shared with third-party advertising or analytics companies. We use Sentry for error tracking; error reports may include your IP address and browser metadata. Our site and API are fronted by Cloudflare for content delivery and security.
4. AI Processing (SeraChat)
Messages and images you submit to SeraChat are processed by third-party AI infrastructure providers on our behalf in order to generate responses. SeraChat's memory features may store information you share in conversations (such as your characters and preferences) to personalize future interactions. Please do not include sensitive personal information in chat messages. You can delete conversations from your chat history, and conversations you shared publicly can be unshared at any time.
5. How Information Is Shared
We do not sell your personal information for money. Serving personalised advertising does, however, involve sharing online identifiers with advertising partners, which some laws — including the CPRA in California — treat as a “sale” or “share”; section 7 explains how to opt out. We share information with:
- Service providers that help us operate the Service: hosting and CDN/security providers, object storage for uploaded images, AI infrastructure providers, and error-tracking (Sentry).
- Blizzard — to authenticate your account and fetch game data via the official API.
- Patreon, Twitch, Discord — when you link those accounts, we exchange the data needed to operate the integration (e.g. verifying your Patreon membership).
- Advertising partners — Nitro (Overwolf Ltd) and the ad exchanges it works with receive the data described in section 7 when ads are served to you.
- Authorities — when required by applicable law or to protect our legal rights.
6. Payments
Seramate Premium subscriptions are currently billed through Patreon; we receive your membership status and tier, never your payment card details. If we introduce direct checkout in the future, payments will be handled by a dedicated payment processor identified at checkout, and this policy will be updated accordingly.
7. Advertising
We serve third-party advertising on the Service through Nitro (Overwolf Ltd). Nitro and the advertising partners it works with may set cookies and process online identifiers, device and browser information, and approximate location in order to select, deliver, cap and measure ads, including personalised ads. What they collect and the choices available to you are set out in the Nitro Privacy Policy. Paid Seramate plans are served no third-party advertising at all.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, a consent prompt is shown before advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time here:
If you are a California resident, you may opt out of the sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising here:
These controls appear only where the relevant law applies, so the space above may be empty. You can also block or delete advertising cookies in your browser settings at any time, and industry opt-outs are available at youronlinechoices.eu and optout.aboutads.info.
Members of our Patreon community may also publish their own promotional listings on the Service (“community ads”). These are first-party listings hosted by us and reviewed by our staff before they appear. We count how many times each listing is displayed and clicked, in aggregate per day and region, so its author can see how it performed; this counting uses no cookies and no identifiers, and cannot be linked to you. If you hide a listing using its close button, we record that listing's id in your browser's local storage for seven days so it is not shown to you again; this is stored only on your device, is never sent to us, contains nothing that identifies you, and you can clear it at any time through your browser.
8. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Content you delete (such as chat conversations) is removed from your account; residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period.
9. Security
We use commercially reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach we will inform affected users in accordance with applicable law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data — including full account deletion — by emailing [email protected]. We aim to fulfil verified requests within 30 days.
In the Service itself you can: manage per-character privacy settings (including hiding characters and activity), disconnect linked accounts, delete chat conversations, and unshare shared content. If you are in the EEA or UK, you additionally have the rights provided by the GDPR (including data portability, restriction of processing, objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority).
11. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you are in the EEA and under 16, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or guardian where required by local law.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this page periodically.
