Lightblinded Vanguard Dispel "Weakaura" No Longer Works Due to Hotfix

A Wednesday night hotfix has re-added several Lightblinded Vanguard debuffs back to the Private Aura system, killing the dispel WeakAura that raid teams were using to coordinate Avenger's Shield dispels. The affected spells — Blinding Light, Rending Tear, Fearsome Cry, Avenger's Shield, Blisterburst, Tail Lash, and Black Miasma — are all Private Auras again, meaning addons can no longer make computational decisions based on them.

The whole saga started over 2 months ago when Blizzard briefly removed these debuffs from the Private Aura system to fix healer dispel visibility on raid frames. That opened the door for addon authors to build a coordination tool — especially relevant after Blizzard buffed Lightblinded Vanguard during Race to World First to require 8 simultaneous coordinated dispels. The boss was later nerfed back to 4, but the aura stuck around because, well, why wouldn't it.

Going forward, healers will need to coordinate manually. Assigning one healer to the top of raid frames and one to the bottom is the suggested baseline, with Mass Dispel, Warlock Imp dispels, and Stoneform as supplements. Notably, patch 12.0.5 apparently updated default raid frames to correctly show dispel glows on Private Auras — so Blizzard may finally have the UI side sorted before Season 2.
