Zul'jan and Atal'Utek - Patch 12.1 Campaign Prologue (Story Spoilers)

Patch 12.0.7 sets up the 12.1 campaign with a prologue centered on Zul'jan, the Amani troll who failed to defend Zul'Aman from the Twilight's Blade while his sister Zul'jarra rallied the loa and became the tribe's first hash'ey in centuries. The story kicks off when Elder Hagar of the Haranir summons every elf and troll leader in Azeroth — including Queen Talanji in her first appearance since Battle for Azeroth — to reveal that elves, trolls, and haranir all share common ancestry. Nobody takes it well. Vereesa Windrunner flatly refuses to ever regard the Amani as kin, Lor'themar calls it preposterous, and Zul'jan storms off entirely.

To prove the claim, Orweyna takes Zul'jan and Loa Speaker Kinduru to the Den of Echoes, where a vision shows the true founding of Zul'Aman: the Amani were losing badly to Old God general Kith'ix and his Aqir army until desperate trolls pulled a massive serpent called Ula'tek from the Rift of Aln to turn the tide — directly contradicting the Amani legend that they stood alone and unaided.

Zul'jan refuses to accept either revelation and races back to Zul'Aman to dig through Kinduru's records himself. The records initially back his version of events, but a tampered box yields a damaged spirit mask — and a cliffhanger that carries directly into patch 12.1.
