New Interrupt Macro Prevents Overwriting of Target Markers in Patch 12.0.7

Patch 12.0.7 is adding a small but genuinely useful macro change for Mythic+ interrupt coordination: prefixing a target marker number with a tilde (~) will now prevent your marker from overwriting one that's already been placed. So /tm ~1 marks your target with marker 1 only if it isn't already marked — no more two players accidentally stomping each other's assignments mid-pull.

The classic interrupt setup of /focus + /tm 1 has long been the backbone of coordinated kicks, especially in pulls with multiple casters like the Driving Gale-Caller in Skyreach. The overwrite problem was a real source of missed interrupts in pugs and even organized groups. A previous macro workaround existed but broke at some point, so players will be glad to have the functionality back in a clean, native form.

The article also nods to the broader interrupt-tracking gap since Midnight's addon shake-up, pointing to Fellowship's nameplate UI as a model worth borrowing — showing who intends to kick, cooldown status, and overlap warnings at a glance. The tilde fix is a step forward, but the community is clearly hungry for something more systemic.
