New Friends List and Social Pane on Patch 12.1 PTR
An undocumented change in this week's Patch 12.1 PTR build has revealed a completely new look for the in-game friends list and social pane!
The new pane is taller, but also narrower moving the familiar bottom tabs over to the right.
No longer labeled, there are still tabs for Friends, Recent Allies, Quick Join, Friend Requests, and Raid. Functioning similar to before, there are a few new interesting features, such as a search bar and filter for statuses, combat roles, or interest tags. However, there is no longer a dedicated tab for the /who list, though it can still be pulled up separately by typing the /who command in chat or keybinding the panel separately. The Recruit-a-Friend tab is also gone, and there does not appear to be a distinct element for it elsewhere at the moment.
The filter is nice for keeping up with larger lists, while the invite button is more specific about what activities cross-faction allies can participate in.
