Explore the Coiled Isle in Patch 12.1

Blizzard has released a new blog post, going over all of the new content that players can experience on the Coiled Isle as part of Patch 12.1! In this new zone, players will storm the Vaults of Atal'Utek, gain reputation with Zul'jarra's Forces, and battle against rare elite enemies in the world as part of Curse Surges.

The mists surrounding the Coiled Isle have parted, revealing a land steeped in ancient Amani history and deadly venomous dangers. As Zul'jarra presses on in pursuit of her brother, Zul'jan, you'll venture into the island's caustic depths, uncover its buried secrets, and aid her forces as they work to reclaim what was lost. Explore the Vaults of Atal'Utek, battle powerful foes during Curse Surges, strengthen yourself through the Altar of Corrosion, unlock rewards with Zul'jarra's Forces, and discover the riches hidden within the isle's cursed waters through a new fishing experience.

Gain Renown with Zul'jarra's Forces

Before you even make landfall on the Coiled Isle, you'll begin accumulating Renown with Zul'jarra's Forces through a series of quests in Zul'Aman as you aid Lady Liadrin, Orweyna, and Zul'jarra. As you progress through the campaign and new zone, you'll gain access to a variety of new rewards and can purchase them from the Renown Quartermaster, Jan'sari the Watchful in Tokka's Landing. Items can be purchased with Voidlight Marl and Artisan Moxies for profession-specific items. You can view the Renown track and your progress in it within the Adventure Guide (Shift-J).

Zul'jarra's Forces serves as the primary Renown faction for the Coiled Isle. Players can earn Renown by progressing through the campaign, completing activities across the zone, and aiding the Amani resistance. Each Renown rank unlocks new rewards, cosmetics, progression bonuses, and profession opportunities.

Pursue Zul'jan Into The Altar of Fangs Dungeon

Located within the Vaults of Atal'Utek, this three-boss dungeon carries players further into the ongoing story of Zul'jan and the treacherous path he treads in his bid for power beyond the loa.

Altar of Fangs Dungeon

Upon the Altar of Fangs, the ancient Amani sealed the vaults of Atal'Utek with the Fang of Ula'tek. Only that cursed dagger has the power to unseal the prison of the great weapon of the Amani. Aid Orweyna and Liadrin in their pursuit of Zul'jan, who has entered this accursed place in a misbegotten attempt to bring lost glory back to the Amani.

Difficulties: Dungeon Follower, Normal, Heroic, Mythic

Ravi: This ravenous hydra has survived this cursed place through scavenging the meat of the fallen. That doesn't mean it is not a fearsome combatant, eager to add some fresh temple explorers to its otherwise rotting diet.
The Writhing Coil: In the feeding frenzy upon each other, there has been one Child of Ula'tek that has proved victorious over the rest of the brood. With every battle won, the twisting monstrosity known as the Writhing Coil only grows stronger.
Zul'jan: With the Fang of Ula'tek, Zul'jan performs the final ritual to gain the power to release the monstrous weapon his ancestors sealed away thousands of years ago. Still held in sway of the spirit of Malacrass, Zul'jan is unaware that the Fang is also the only hope for his sister Zul'jarra's survival.

The Vaults of Atal'Utek

Hidden beneath the Coiled Isle, the Vaults of Atal'Utek are an ancient Amani complex that serves as the heart of the island's repeatable content and public events. Complete the quest, "Into the Vaults of Atal'Utek" from Warleader Abdumati to unlock access, then take part in Temple Patrols, Strikes, Incursions, and battles against Ancient Foes to earn Corrosive Souls, Trovehunter's Bounty, Venom-Cursed Fragments, Corrosive Coins, and Renown with Zul'jarra's Forces. It's dangerous to go it alone, so you may want to make friends or bring a couple with you.

Amani Windcallers can help transport you around the Vaults and even use the wind to hide you temporarily from sight from hostile creatures as you travel through the caustic depths. As you progress through the Vaults of Atal'Utek, you can gain access to additional points making it easier to traverse over the pools of venom.

Get the Upper Hand at the Altar of Corrosion

The Altar of Corrosion is a zone progression system that grants exploration, combat, mobility, and reward bonuses throughout the Coiled Isle. Spend Corrosive Coins to unlock various abilities in a custom talent tree at the Altar of Corrosion in the Amani Foothold in the Vaults of Atal'Utek. These perks will aid you as you continue to explore throughout the Coiled Isle. Additionally, as you unlock more traits, you will also unlock multipliers to the Corrosive Coins you earn within the Vaults, as shown at the top of the tree.

Corrosive Spirit: You earn an additional 25% Corrosive Coin. (Spend 5 more points to unlock.)
Corrosive Spirit II: You earn an additional 50% Corrosive Coin. (Spend 10 more points to unlock.)
Corrosive Spirit III: You earn an additional 75% Corrosive Coin. (Spend 15 more points to unlock.)
Corrosive Spirit IV: You earn an additional 100% Corrosive Coin. (Spend 20 more points to unlock.)

Venomous Hunt: You are able to identify venom-enhanced enemies. Defeating them occasionally releases their power, each granting you Volatile Venom and additional Corrosive Coin.

Volatile Venom: Enhanced by volatile venom increasing your Strength by 5% for 5 Minutes.

Ofi's Offerings: You may find reagents for Ofi's cauldron from treasures across The Coiled Isle.
Venomwalking: You can more safely traverse the nearby pits of venom, reducing damage taken by 75%.
