Heroic Vashnik Nerfed in Hotfixes
Around 9 PM Pacific Time last night, Vashnik was nerfed in some hotfixes before the weekly reset.
- Blood Infusion now increases the damage of Hemo Expulsion by 100% (was 200%) on Normal and Heroic difficulty
- Shadow Infusion now increases the damage of Gloom Expulsion by 100% (was 200%) on Normal and Heroic difficulty
- Flame Infusion now increases the damage of Conflagrating Expulsion by 100% (was 200%) on Normal and Heroic difficulty
For some odd reason, the damage amplification on Normal and Heroic was 200% per stack, whereas it was only 100% on Mythic. We saw Method take advantage of this with their World First kill of Vashnik, with a Fire and Shadow only strategy. The only things that scale when doing back-to-back segments on Vashnik are the explosion damage when Vashnik casts Imbibe, and the health of the adds. As both the purple and orange adds can be CC'ed, the extra health doesn't add much, and cooldowns and personals can be used to survive the explosion damage.
This hotfix will make this strategy for Heroic Vashnik even more appealing. Players should no longer need to run all the way to the Blood section, which is the farthest, has an add that can't be CC'ed, and contains the most annoying Infection that forces players to stack.
If you stay in the same section now, the damage has been significantly reduced.
