Everyone Can Collect Books for Rewards in WoW: Forever

Some mages may fondly remember collecting books all over Azeroth in Season of Discovery to hand in and earn a Rune; that grind is now back for WoW: Forever with a twist. This time, all classes can complete it.

Instead of a Rune, though, you will now be rewarded with a necklace for handing in 10 books, or a Ring for handing in 20 books.

You find the books in the open world; some are in very easy safe spots while others are a bit harder. You can find a full list here. To hand in a book, you need to visit your Faction Librarian. Thankfully for Mages, this is very close to your Mage Portal Trainer.

Reward for 20 Books (Choose One)

At 20 books, you get the quest Greater Friend of the Library. While 20 books is a stretch at level 20, it is doable. Wowhead User Patrickjarvis324 has gotten them as an Alliance Paladin at level 20, and details all the recommended books to get here. Note that the non-caster ring is currently marked as Rogue-only — this might be a bug, but unfortunately, it's too soon to tell.

Something Extra for Mages — Study

Unfortunately, this may not be working as expected on the Beta right now. During testing, attempting to Study opened the Cooking profession repeatedly, crashed the tester's entire PC, and then the ability disappeared and couldn't be reobtained.

Not everything in Azeroth is for everyone. When Mages hand in their first book, they learn a new ability called Study. This ability is tied to the new spell Decipher Scrolls, learnt from a trainer at level 6. When standing in the Library, Studying (consumes a light feather) provides you with a bundle of scrolls on a one-day cooldown.
