In an interview with 4Gamers Taiwan, Blizzard announced that the GDKP Ban only applies to North America and Europe in WoW: Forever.
4Gamers Interview with Blizzard
4Gamers Taiwan interviewed Clay Stone and Holly Longdale on WoW: Forever and one of the biggest topics was GDKP. Originally announced at BlizzCon 2026, Blizzard mentioned that they're banning GDKP in WoW: Forever to protect social experiences. It affects players with fewer resources who might be priced out of content entirely. This would also incentivize players to buy gold, which hurts the economy and enables bad actors to launder gold. However, Clay Stone clarifies in this interview that the GDKP ban only applies to NA and EU, and won't affect other regions. This is similar to the GDKP Ban in SoD and the Anniversary Realms.

Clay continues to talk about the economy and Gold. He explains that acquiring items from the Auction House is a core part of the game, and players in WoW: Forever don't currently have optimized methods of earning gold compared to the original Classic. He also reveals that players will be earning significantly more gold than in the original Classic version of the game. The last thing to note is that they've learned a lot about managing the economy and can allow merchants to sell it with Black Lotus being capped at 50 gold.
