"Phantom Damage" Bug from Melee Attacks Fixed

With the release of Patch 12.1.5, the long-standing "Phantom Damage" bug from melee attacks was fixed.

About a week ago, we previously covered a bug with the UI. When a player took damage from melee swings, the UI showed your health changing by double the amount before rebounding and correcting itself to the correct value. For example, if you took a 100k hit, you would see your health bar lose 200k for a split second before it corrected to a 100k hit. Many players who saw this happen in Delves thought Valeera was just landing a really well-timed heal on them.

This bug has been around since The War Within, with some reports of it being in Dragonflight. One of the biggest problems with this bug is that it could cause a lot of panic when your health drops super low, but you're really at half health. Good news, though: this bug has been fixed!

Performing the same test as before, you can now see no extra damage or rebounding on the health bar or raid frames. This appears very crisp compared to what a lot of people probably got used to.

With the fake damage of Murder Row and phantom damage of melee swings now fixed, hopefully this is the last of any bugs that show incorrect information to players about their health bars.
